Lujiazui Central Financial District Parcel 2E 2-3

Shanghai, China | 2014-2017

One subway stop from the financial centre of Shanghai, Lujiazui is set to be the new commercial hub on the Huangpu River. This important multi-level retail and commercial parcel is located within the new urban neighbourhood and is one of several development parcels designed by PWL for Citic Pacific in this area. We provided a complete scope of work from concept design through to construction drawings. We also developed a comprehensive streetscape design that unifies the entire neighbourhood.

The project has an international flavour that nods to Shanghai’s colonial history. We had a hand in every detail, from pavings and water features to custom lighting, artwork, and furniture. A network of balconies and walkways links shops on each level. We created a large plaza facing the adjoining Yincheng Middle Road, and linked the development to the existing riverside park to create a seamless experience from the road to the river.
