Coopers Park

This northeast False Creek site housed a barrel manufacturing company for 80 years. Sweeney’s Cooperage closed in 1981 to make way for the Cambie Street Bridge, BC Place Stadium and new residential areas. Over the years, density surged in the Concord Pacific Place Coopers’ Landing neighbourhood, and the 4.2-acre park was upgraded to meet the demands of new residents. Today, a large playground, skateboard park, basketball courts and off-leash dog area help burn off energy—while strategically-located landforms and planting separate various park functions and maintain the openness found in the original design. The designated off-leash area celebrates four-legged friends with a custom water feature, welcoming both small and large dogs.
