Horseshoe Bay Waterfront Park Revitalization

West Vancouver, British Columbia | 2017-2023

The Horseshoe Bay Waterfront Park revitalization project has transformed a vital community asset into a lively and inviting waterfront space that celebrates the stunning beauty and cultural richness of the area. PWL's design approach focused on enhancing the park’s ecological assets while weaving in nautical themes that resonate with the harbour’s maritime history. The thoughtful integration of native plantings not only beautifies the space but also supports local wildlife, ensuring a thriving ecosystem amidst the bustling waterfront.

As a regional destination nestled within a vibrant neighbourhood, the park offers direct access to the water, making it the perfect spot for both relaxation and exploration. Visitors can wander along interconnected pathways that evoke the movement of waves, with gathering areas designed for everything from casual picnics to lively community events. The play area features a custom crab climbing structure and whimsical starfish, inviting children to explore and engage in imaginative play. New washrooms enhance the park's amenities, ensuring comfort for all visitors. Nautical elements throughout the park create a playful atmosphere that encourages connection and interaction. The design also thoughtfully considers sea-level rise, incorporating resilient landscaping and infrastructure to ensure the park remains a cherished space for generations to come.

With its fresh coastal spirit and commitment to ecological stewardship, the revitalized Horseshoe Bay Waterfront Park enhances the local landscape and fosters a deeper connection between the community and the beautiful waters that surround it. This project celebrates thoughtful design, where inspiration meets practical solutions, creating an enduring public space that captures the essence of the region.
