Ketcheson Neighbourhood Park

Richmond, British Columbia | 2010-2019

We led the design for Ketcheson Neigbourhood Park in Richmond. We took a blank canvas surrounded by the new Concord Gardens residential development and created a landscape, open space, and amenity site that serve as the meeting grounds for building residents and for the neighbourhood

In addition to incorporating principles of Feng Shui, the park system embraces Richmond's natural landscape while seeking inspiration from Japanese and Chinese garden history

We designed a park with a series of “islands” that are reinterpretations of the regional landscape. Water connects varying scales of outdoor spaces through tranquil reflecting pools, cascading waterfalls, and meandering streams.

Park amenities include a playground, flexible lawn spaces, adult fitness equipment, a leash-optional dog run and community gardens.
