Re:Connect: Visualizing the Viaducts

Vancouver, British Columbia | 2011

PWL participated in the City of Vancouver’s International Design Competition to reimagine the viaducts of North East False Creek. Our submission, created in collaboration with Dialog, Beasley & Associates, and Jim Green & Associates, instead imagined removing the viaducts altogether, opening up extensive green space, integrating multi-modal transportation routes, and creating new cultural facilities in the heart of the city.

The ambitious proposal was adopted as the basis of the city's plan to connect Vancouver’s Chinatown directly to the waterfront, earning both the Award of Merit and the People’s Choice Award, chosen from among 120 submissions.
