Re:Connect: Visualizing the Viaducts

Vancouver, British Columbia | 2011

PWL participated in the City of Vancouver’s International Design Competition to reimage the viaducts of North East False Creek. Our submission - created in collaboration with Dialog, Beasley & Associates, and Jim Green & Associates—instead imagined removing the viaducts altogether, opening up extensive green space, integrating multi-modal transportation routes, and creating new cultural facilities in the heart of the city.

Out of 120 submissions our teams earned both the Award of Merit and the People’s Choice Award and, more importantly, was adopted as a basis of a plan that will finally connect Vancouver’s Chinatown directly to the waterfront.
